I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at GEICO (Columbia, SC) in Sep 2015
Interview
The process was made up of a brief phone interview, online skills assessment, in person 2 hour interview, and a 2 hour role playing interview.
For 33k a year you have to jump leaps and bounds. The interviews themselves are really easy. The role playing scenario is terrible. They place you in an office and let you listen to a tape recorded intro on what you will be doing. You have tons of papers on the desk, some of them adjuster forms, blank checks, and other papers needed to fill out. You will have about 30 papers in front of you. They give you 30 minutes to listen to a recording and take notes. I had a hard time actually trying to figure out what they wanted me to do. I passed the comprehension exam with a 93 but yet could not figure out this role play for the life of me. I believe it is complete over kill for a job that pays in the low 30's. So after the recorder is done they call your cell phone and act like a customer with a product issue, this was normal and not too hard. Then three managers come into your office role playing and acting like walk in customers. I had a hard time with this interview and ended up telling them that I think this is way too intense for such an entry level position. I have a 4.0 gpa and have interviewed at management roles in bigger companies and never had to go through this. I ended up leaving the interview early and telling them I think it was complete overkill. The worst part, even if you get through all those interviews, is still not having a secured job. You will have to attend training in Georgia for a month, and if you pass the testing you go to Virginia for a month for more training. If you fail any of these testings than you lose your job. If you pass them both then you go back to Georgia for another month for additional training. All of this for 33k a year and the possibility of losing your job at the testing. Is the position worth it to me? The answer is no, not for th epay rate and being away from family for three months. Hope this helps.

Question 1
Normal STAR interview questions about customer service.
Good experience with this company and interview process. They asked questions pertaining to past job experience and questions regarding the job itself. The recruiter was nice and friendly, as well.

Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GEICO (Dallas, TX) in Jul 2025
Interview
applied and was asked to do a assessment which was pretty straightforward. Then did a 20 min zoon interview with a recruiter. They explained a little about the job, salary, training and that I would be invited for a 2nd interview with the leadership team. A little strange interview also, they didn't really ask any questions about myself, just asked how many times I've shown up late for work in my past job and why I had a gap in my employment. A few days later I got a automated email that the job had been filled already. Seems just because you are told you made it to the 2nd and final round doesn't mean you will. They seem to hire first come first serve.

Interview
I did a zoom interview, which wasn’t the issue. The issue was I felt like there were no questions asked linked directly to the job I was applying for. I’m use to more behavioral based questions and they asked a lot of random filler questions, had me guessing why are they even interviewing me??
