Interview
Beware if you are a person of color…
But if you are a person of color who subscribes to respectability politics and being white adjacent, you’ll fit right in! This office is about as melanin deficient as they come.
Their questions and responses make it evident that they don’t prepare for interviews. When I asked different interviewers about their experiences at GLG, people volunteered information about a high turnover and poor Glassdoor reviews while failing to mention how the company is addressing it. In addition to not having questions prepared, someone on leadership interviewed me in an open space filled with background noise and passersby. I couldn’t help but think the same consideration of overlooking this unprofessionalism wouldn’t be extended to me if I had children running in the background.
Multiple interviewers mentioned how everyone is competitive within their own teams, but then began to backpedal and talk about how collaborative the environment is. Every interviewer indirectly referenced a lack of work life balance. One manager told me if I had plans for the evening, be prepared to cancel.
The same person on the leadership team asked me, “Why should I be concerned about you?”
When I asked for clarity on whether he was asking about my weaknesses, he said no. Then I asked is there anything he’s concerned about that he wants me to address and he said no. Later I asked him what qualities are needed to succeed in this role and his response was, “You tell me.”
Tip: Be prepared for interviews and mindful of how you interact with candidates. You can only camouflage racial bias as “culture fit” for so long. If you think this assumption is a reach, note my observation below.
During my in-person interview you made the mistake of sending me two employees who weren’t scheduled to interview me. While speaking with them, one woman shared that she was a school teacher prior to joining GLG and the other was a recent college graduate.
As someone with research experience, I’d love to hear the mental gymnastics in your rationale when discussing the qualifications of our resumes side by side. But hey, I’m familiar with working twice as hard to get just as much.

Interview
there were three rounds of interviews, one prescreener interview, the second interview was a video conference where there was a case study and role playing exercise, the third round was a three hour interview where you will meet with various people. The third round is extremely long without breaks nor were refreshments offered. When I first walked in I knew immediately they wouldn't offer me the job. This company pretends to hold values of diversity and inclusion but they do not practice what they preach. This company seriously lacks people of color. After the third interview, I sent not only a thank you email but a follow up email as well with no response. This company and employees lack professionalism, they completely ghosted me, they didn't even send the standard rejection email. In hindsight I am so thankful I was not hired for this position it seems extremely toxic.

Interview
Applied online and was contacted the next day for a phone screening with the department manager. The recruiter took several days to respond to my availability, but set me up with an interview by the end of the week. Department manager called on time and explained the role very well and asked basic questions about my resume.
I was told I would be contacted "soon" with more information, but they never got in touch with me. After a week, I attempted to contact the recruiter, but she ignored my email. Another two weeks passes and I emailed the department manager directly only to be ignored again. Very unprofessional HR department.
