I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at GNC (Edmonton, AB) in Feb 2012
Interview
Came into the store, met the manager. She was the only one on staff at the time, so we sat at the tables in the mall cafteria right outside the shop. In between watching for customers, she asked me several common interview questions, such as: "What is your relevant experience?". Overall the interview was very relaxed, however this was in large part due to a great manager. Several other store and area manager were incredibly strict, most were generally fair.

Question 1
What is your previous sales experience?
How much do you know about supplements?
Do you have previous cash handling experience?
Describe why you want to work for us.
Easy interview since the person really needed someone to hold the cashier position. All I had to prove was that I could do math and if I was available during the week.
Lied to during interview about bonus, never received any compensation. Non existent don’t count on getting anything other than hourly
Hourly pay is very low, not worth the effort due to manager responsibilities
The interview process was pretty straightforward and simple. If I might add, was very standard as well. Know a little about products and supplements, health and fitness, and you will be golden
