I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at GNC (Raleigh, NC) in Jan 2012
Interview
The GNC interview process for a basic level sales associate position is quite easy. I have since my interview actually conducted interviews for the company on possible hiring candidates. When they are asking you particular tough nutrition knowledge questions they are only trying to figure out where you are on your knowledge so it does not mean you need to know everything they expect you not to know a whole lot. Most of the questions also are not as much what your answers are but more so how you present yourself. They basically want to see that you are a positive and motivated person that it willing to learn and take direction. They really want strong personality, motivated people. They are looking for people who are flexable and looking to grow in the company.

We are a performance based company so how would you handle constant goals being set for you on the sales floor as well as store duties like cleaning and stocking all at the same time?
Easy interview since the person really needed someone to hold the cashier position. All I had to prove was that I could do math and if I was available during the week.
Lied to during interview about bonus, never received any compensation. Non existent don’t count on getting anything other than hourly
Hourly pay is very low, not worth the effort due to manager responsibilities
The interview process was pretty straightforward and simple. If I might add, was very standard as well. Know a little about products and supplements, health and fitness, and you will be golden
