I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GNC (Lincoln, NE) in Aug 2014
Interview
Very simple, more questions asking about management style and sales style than questions about supplements.
I went in-person filled an app. and turned it in, you will be asked to do online as well, but it takes awhile to get those apps in the 'GNC portal'. Was called to interview within 2-3 days, was offered the job within 2-3 days. Started the next week and trained for 2 weeks before was opening and closing store by myself. Very easy and quick process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What would make a good manager?
How would you handle an upset customer?
What makes good customer service?
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Pretty basic, I was asked the same question reworded more than once it seemed.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GNC (Ypsilanti, MI) in Sep 2024
Interview
The interview was brief, and focused on my interest in the nutritional supplements industry along with my knowledge of sales strategies. I was primarily asked about preferred working hours, availability, and comfort level with meeting certain sales numbers.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GNC (New York, NY)
Interview
I went to a GNC store. Upon arriving, only the store manager was there. She had to take customers so I waited until she was done. Then she asked me like five questions and told me I would hear back from someone the next day. I heard back the same day and started working the next day. She also mentioned how she had to fire her entire crew which was weird because I kind of got put off by it.
Had to make a lot of calls to score an interview, mainly because they were trying to see which store needed help most in the area, and they're pretty slack on getting back to you in general.
Interview was really laid-back, relaxed. They just like to see if you know anything about their products (specifically supplements) and how you are as a team worker and employee.
It's pretty much a hire on the spot if you interview, but not getting contacted back by them is a real issue, so watch out.
