      Patent Attorney Interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GSK

      Interview

First interview via webchat, felt like the main purpose was to see if my expectation of the job aligned with the reality. Second interview was on-site on a Monday. Was said that I would have to prepare a business case, the specifics I received Friday evening and was to be submitted by Sunday. To this day, I wonder why these sharp deadlines. The day of the on-site interview, I presented the business case to the recruiter and the people of the IP department and completed two other tasks. Though we had a (scientific) discussion on the interpretation of some of the (scientific) material regarding the business case, I felt like I made a rather strong impression. After the on-site visit, the recruiter missed her deadline by which she promised to get back to me twice, and only on the third call she told me that my application was not withheld, and that she would contact me for a de-briefing later. Since I didn't hear back from her for that de-briefing, I contacted her by e-mail twice, but she did not reply to me, which I found and still find disappointing and impolite.

      Question 1

Will you be able to transition from a scientific to an IP mindset for this function? Do you know the full trajectory to becoming a Patent Attorney? What are the three things you'd prioritize in your first week here?
