Its a tedious process though they judge you minutely. Gartner was a reputed firm for me till I had a chance to give interview. But I never expected such unprofessional take from the recruitment team. I got a call from the recruiter as per the job opening, and as per the trend they asked about my current role and current CTC along with the expected CTC. I made everything clear initially about my justified expectations(which wasn’t negotiable) and they agreed. So the process started and the first round was written round which almost took a full day and was very exhaustive. I cleared that round and was given another date for next round. The process went on and I cleared 5 rounds of interview with different people of different region within span of 2.5 months. Then I was again called to office for a face to face round where I was interviewed for around 45 mins where HR was also present. I was again asked about my expected CTC (non- negotiable) and again I told them the same answer with genuine justifications. I cleared this round too and was again informed for another round of interview with a top level management person (VP of the Dept.) and cleared this round as well. After few days I got a call from HR that I have been selected and got a mail for all the required documents, reference checks and current company’s salary slips. I sent them all the required documents and then unexpected thing happened. I got a call from HR after one day and the HR told me they can only provide a certain amount of CTC which was far below my expectations. I was aghast because after dedicating so much of my time and energy for almost 3 months in this company I got such unexpected reply. I told them that the amount wasn’t even considerable but they told me this is what they can offer after which I denied. Again after a week I got a call if I have changed my mind but they were again providing almost the same amount. At last, I REJECTED the offer and was really shocked to know the reality of the company. I just want to ask that why they wasted my time(3 months) and energy when the expectation part was so transparent in all the stages of interview and showed this unprofessional behaviour. I could have been told during the first call that they cannot provide as per the expectations and wouldn’t have taken the things ahead. I used to think Gartner as a brand name but now I have a different outlook for the same. Had a pathetic experience!!
