I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gartner in May 2021
Interview
The recruiter reached out on LinkedIn to schedule time to discuss a position on their GTS team. We have a screening call and she indicated we could fast track based upon my experience. She then emailed times for a follow-up and I confirmed the time worked. When the day came, she didn't show up nor did she answer my email or call. 10 days later, she sent an apology, said she was out of the office unexpectedly and asked for time, so I decided to move forward.
The interview went well and she scheduled time with the hiring manager. I received an invite from the scheduling coordinator with no detail. I asked what the agenda would be and if I needed to prepare and she told me to ask the recruiter. I did. She didn’t reply again. I had the interview with the hiring manager. I could tell I wouldn’t like his leadership style as he seemed to be uncomfortable with smart women and did a lot of mansplaining. Regardless, I was interested in moving along in the process since Gartner has such a good reputation and I have heard you can move around if you perform well.
I followed up with recruiter multiple times with no response. It’s been over a month now and I didn’t even get a dear john from their ATS. No closer email or thank you for you time. Gartner may be a great organization, but it was literally the worse candidate experience I have ever encountered.
