I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Gartner (Hartford, CT) in Apr 2014
Interview
I was in college looking for my first job after graduation. I had a screening interview on campus and then went to Hartford for half a day of interviews. Some were one on one with senior managers, others were panel interviews. Most questions were behavioral or whiteboard.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How many tennis balls would fit into the Empire State Building? I asked them for the volume of the ESB and then estimated the volume of an average tennis ball and divided the volume of the ESB by the volume of the tennis balls.
Met with recruiter, then hiring manager, then a VP for a different team. Interviews were very unstructured and more about the role and Gartner then me. More of a vibe check then interview.
Then I was ghosted. Contacted recruiter for timeline and no response for 2 weeks. Had to go to their portal to see I was rejected. Very unprofessional.
Huge waste of time. They had me do a whole presentation on Power BI of sample data just to tell me they didn't think I had enough experience presenting to senior leadership. This was an entry level role and honestly have no idea what they are expecting
