I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (London, England) in Apr 2024
Interview
The recruiter look at least 10 days to reply to any communication. He mispronounced my name consistently, and spoke with poor grammar 'when you was working at XXX, what was your experience'. After spending a significant amount of time preparing for interview, I never heard back from him after the interview. He also did not turn on his camera throughout the interview which felt extremely rude; when I asked if I should also turn mine off he said 'yeah if you want'. He was extremely unprofessional and negative during the interview, asking only what I had done badly, or regretted, or when I had been criticised. After the interview it was clear that I would not want to work for a company that employed someone like my recruiter, but to receive no word about the outcome is still highly disrespectful.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The Six Gartner Traits:
Throughout the first interview (and the interview process as a whole) you will be assessed on six traits, which are:
* Executive Presence – Professional conduct and ability to influence stakeholders through effective communication in a clear, concise manner with confidence
* Pursues ‘Pathway To Gold’ – Following best practices and seeking feedback to develop yourself
* Will To Win – The ability to persevere through challenges to achieve the goals you set yourself
* Quick learner – Ability to process new information and apply it quickly and effectively to new situations (showing excellent listening & questioning skills as part of a consultative sales approach)
* Lifelong learner – Ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge
* Integrity – Demonstration of honesty, respect, and business ethics to clients, co-workers, and stakeholders
The Agenda for 1st interview will consist of 3 parts as follows:
1. Why Sales? Why Gartner?
2. Behavioural-based interview questions
3. Roleplay exercise
Avoid this interview process at all costs. It felt like nothing more than a data gathering exercise rather than a genuine hiring effort. Every single round was conducted by a recruiter — I never spoke with an actual hiring manager or team member. A complete waste of time and effort. I would not recommend applying.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gartner
Interview
It was okay. Two interviews, phone call and zoom. Zoom was a bit weird all very feedback approached. Had to do a role play of a cold call, which I do everyday to someone who has no cold calling experience so not sure that’s the best judge
