I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Gartner (Melbourne) in Jul 2024
Interview
Initial phone interview with recruiter internal to Gartner then a Teams based interview with a skills assessor.
These are all behavioural based questions however you are led to the answers in most cases.
The final interview in my case was unprofessional.
Two sales managers and a VP invited, a scenario sent to me to prepare for a roleplay (for a over a week).
A preparation session with the Gartner recruiter for the interview also as part of the build up/ time and efforts.
To only be told in the interview that they don't do the Roles Plays online and like to do them face to face (was never explained to me).
I was then advised they would like to meet me face to face and contacted by a recruitment co-ordinator post interview to talk about dates.
The next day I was contacted again by a different person in Recruitment at Gartner to advise they wouldn't be going ahead with me.
Unprofessional, liars, time wasters and highly egotistical.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions around motivation- what motivates you etc?
Avoid this interview process at all costs. It felt like nothing more than a data gathering exercise rather than a genuine hiring effort. Every single round was conducted by a recruiter — I never spoke with an actual hiring manager or team member. A complete waste of time and effort. I would not recommend applying.
First round HR screening. Second round detailed personality analysis interview. Third round manager interview to ask about experience and motivations. Last round panel interview with presentation to describe why you're a good fit. Strong emphasis on personality fit.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gartner
Interview
It was okay. Two interviews, phone call and zoom. Zoom was a bit weird all very feedback approached. Had to do a role play of a cold call, which I do everyday to someone who has no cold calling experience so not sure that’s the best judge
