Interview
Was recruited by Genetech Recruiter via LinkedIn. I am located in NJ and position was in Headquarters in CA. Had 45 minute HR Introductory Phone Interview. 3 business days later had 45 minute phone interview with the Hiring Manager. The following week had 5 Skype interviews with various team members for the position. Then waited 5 weeks before I heard back from Hiring Manager's Admin to set up a face to face. Was flown to CA a few days before interview to get acquainted with city, and then had full day of interviews. Met with 12 people in 5 hours. Some of the interviews were 30 minutes, some were 15 minutes with people I had originally Skyped with. Most of the interviews were "get to know you" type of questions. No deep or trick questions. Nothing formal like that - very position-specific questions and diving into my past experience. Went 5 weeks with no communication or update back from Genetech, and then received a personal call from the hiring manager that I did not get the position, and explained why they went with the other candidate over me. Was very professional and I was impressed by the personal touch. Was told i would be kept in mind for future positions.

Interview
First there was an interview with the recruiter followed by an interview with the hiring manager. Then there was a series of round table interviews with so many people (30 I think) and a presentation as well. Everyone was nice, and questions were very relevant to the job, but it was very overwhelming, spread over a couple of weeks and then there was a seemingly very long period where they were getting signatures and putting together an offer letter, even thought I’d gotten the verbal offer fairly quickly.

FIrst was interviewed by HR on phone, then had a second phone interview by the hiring manager who was a Group Product Manager, then I came into their offices twice to have panel interviews where I met over 14 people across the department

Had nine staff members interview me at one time in a conference room. I had individual interviews with the Associate Director of the Department, Lead Project Manager, technical staff in software validation and/or IT infrastructure Project Manager and other Managers running other CSV Projects.
