A few weeks after I’ve applied online, a hiring manager for the position reached out to me for an initial interview, which went very-very well. As a next step, someone from HR department had a call with me about the position and administrative questions, to make sure I would be a good fit, which also seemed to have gone exceptionally well. During the call, the person from HR multiple times has assured me that they would be moving forward with my application and that I should expect to be contacted later for in-person interview scheduling, but that it might take a little longer due to Thanksgiving holidays and people being out of office. I have waited for almost 3 weeks and no one has reached out, so I followed up. HR person did not bother to type even a sentence to reply, and just completely ignored me, and all that after persistent reassurance that they will be moving forward with my candidacy. A month later I just got an automated rejection email from the application portal. So frustrating and incredibly unprofessional. Absolutely did not expect this kind of experience from a company as Genentech.
