I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Genentech (South San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2023
Interview
It is a relatively easy interview process with standard questions asked about your research experiences and interest in working at the company. Make sure to read over Genentech's mission and integrate that in your responses, my supervisors seemed to really like that. Also, it is a group interview so it will be the hiring manager and the mentor you you will work closely with.

The interviewers challenged me with intriguing research scenarios and asked probing questions to assess my analytical thinking and creativity. They also evaluated my knowledge of relevant methodologies, tools, and current trends in the field. One aspect I truly appreciated was the emphasis on my potential for growth and learning. The interviewers were genuinely interested in understanding my long-term goals and how the internship could contribute to my professional development.
