I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Genentech (Vacaville, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
I interviewed for a position at the Vacaville campus. Myself and three other people were scheduled for a two hour interview time. We checked in at the lobby, then were escorted through the central hallway of the facility to the office we were being interviewed at. On the way our escort explained what each building housed, what products they make at that facility, and how the manufacturing department was organized. Once we arrived at the office for the manufacturing department, we took turns speaking with two interviewers. One interviewer was a senior technician, the other a supervisor. Spoke to each person for about for about thirty minutes. They asked mostly generic interview questions about previous teamwork-related experiences and how you would react to certain workplace situations. The supervisor asked some more science-based questions. After their questions, I asked the interviewers questions about the job, the manufacturing process, the organization of the department, and how they felt about their jobs. After the interviews we were escorted back to the front of the building. Overall a low-stress interview process.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Genentech (Vacaville, CA) in Jul 2022
Interview
Genentech wants people who work well with others and are overall friendly individuals, as you will be put on a shift of about 10 employees if offered the job. It is important that you get along with these coworkers because you will be spending 10-12 hours with one another. The interview process consisted of a panel of 5 managers/supervisors from each shift. They asked questions such as “Why is diversity in the workplace important?” And “Describe a situation when…”
Started with a phone screen with a talent recruiter where they asked basic questions and described the position. The next interview was a panel interview with a few supervisors in manufacturing
