I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Oshawa, ON)
Interview
Applied for the position on GM website. Got a call about a month later, and got an onsite interview within 2 weeks of the phone call. Met with 2 hiring managers. The interviewers were cordial and respectful. Most of the questions were behavioral and based on the STAR technique. They showed me the facility later, which was pretty cool. Interview lasted about 45 mins and then they took me on a tour. It has been about 2 months since I heard from them and the position on the GM site says filled, so I guess I didn't get it. I wish they had notified me, considering I drove 3 hrs to interview with them. But overall, good experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me of a time you worked on a difficult project, how did you go about resolving it and what was the outcome?
Took the OA, then had three interviews (coding, debugging, behavior), then technical/behavior
Each interview was around 45 minutes. The coding interview had two medium difficulty questions. Then, I read through a file for debugging. The final interview was with the hiring manager.
I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Dublin, Dublin)

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Motors (GM) (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2026
Interview
The interview process consisted primarily of behavioral questions focused on past experiences, teamwork, conflict resolution, and problem-solving. Interviewers were friendly and professional, and the process felt conversational. Be prepared to discuss your background and provide examples using the STAR method.
