I applied online in December 2024 and was contacted by a GM recruiter a few days later to complete an online assessment. The assessment consisted of two sets of multiple-choice questions, primarily testing knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink. Shortly after completing the test, I was contacted by the recruiter for a second interview. Due to the upcoming New Year holidays, the hiring team requested that the interview take place on very short notice, with less than 24 hours to prepare. Despite the tight schedule, I accommodated their request and attended the interview. The panel included the hiring manager and a manager from a partner team. Only the hiring manager asked questions, while the second participant observed without contributing. I was informed of my rejection shortly afterward. Despite my genuine attempt and openness to receive constructive feedback, no feedback was provided. The rushed timeline and lack of constructive engagement or feedback left the experience feeling unproductive and not a good use of time. While I appreciated the prompt communication, there was little opportunity for meaningful interaction or insight into the role.
