      Talent Acquisition Manager Interview

      Mar 13, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Genius Sports (London, England) in Mar 2019

      Interview

Astonishingly baffling process, if I could call it that. I saw the job advert on LinkedIn, proceeded to try and connect with the job poster. The job poster accepted my request, but never responded to my email. I then tried to contact their head office to speak to someone from recruitment - only to be told that I just need to upload my CV - not open to conversations prior to applying. I applied on 22nd February and received absolutely no response until pretty much two weeks later. I was then hurriedly invited for an interview without being pre-screened. I wasn't asked any questions around my availability, notice period, salary or anything of the sort. I had to ask to basically ask myself. Now for the 'interview' if I could call it that. I was booked in for a 40 minute slot late on a Friday. One of the interviewers listed on the invitation didn't attend - the person interviewing me didn't say if they would attend, wouldn't or otherwise. What then proceeded was easily the most surreal interview I've ever been part of. I was asked hardly any questions about my experience, given very little information about the role and again, I had to take it upon myself to ask questions about the team, makeup of the business as well as challenges they face when recruiting. Only 5 minutes into the interview, I was told that I could potentially be considered for a different position given my interest in sports as well as sports data. The interview lasted all of exactly 24 minutes. It was all smiles. A few days then passed and I received no feedback. Again, I took it upon myself to contact the 'recruitment coordinator' asking for feedback. A few minutes later, I then received an email informing me that I was not successful. Baffling in that the interviewer never delved into my experience, my potential suitability for the role or actually taking the time to understand how I do recruitment, what processes I follow and also reasons for considering a change etc. Absolutely baffling to say the least. I can only assume I was booked in by mistake? For that if they were looking for a professional recruiter, I certainly didn't quite match how they do their recruitment.

      Question 1

Very little relating to my actual experience or CV. Asked about location and package
