I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences (Foster City, CA) in Jul 2015
Interview
Phone interview with recruiter (who was a bit incompetent, even missed a scheduled phone call due to not realizing what time zone he was in) followed by phone interview with hiring manager. Was invited to Gilead for face-to-face interviews. Had 11 interviews (30 minutes each) and then lunch with 3 direct reports. Everybody was nice for the most part. I felt like 30 minutes was not enough time for most of the interviews (especially when a few showed up late). But for the most part the people were nice and professional. The hiring manager said he really liked me and that they would get back to me within a week or so. It's been over 3 weeks and I haven't heard a peep. I emailed both the recruiter and hiring manager for follow up. No reply. I think it's quite rude to not reply, especially after I took the time to fly out to CA for a full day of interviews. At least have the common courtesy to tell me I didn't get the job.
Everyone talked about how busy they are, and that they like the entrepreneurial spirit of the company. But definitely a lot of complaints about the workload, being understaffed, and the systems not being set up to handle the growth or the workload. But it sounds like they have a lot of new people that are improving things.
This was a fairly solid interview process. The interview team was quick and organized with clear questions and a process that makes sense. I also had the ability to counter offer.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Gilead Sciences in Mar 2025
Interview
3 rounds of Interviews and then got ghosted by recruiter. Mailed 3 times, and no response. You kinda get your hopes up if interviews go very well and it is your top choice career wise. And then they ghost you for a month and still no rejection, nor acceptance. Disappointed

Interview
4 rounds of interviews 30 minutes each. No technical questions, just lots of typical aptitude questions from various people within the function. They were all conducted virtually and I took them from home.
