      Product Manager Interview

      Feb 3, 2022
      Anonymous employee
      King of Prussia, PA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Globus Medical (King of Prussia, PA) in Sep 2021

      Interview

I had an initial phone screening with the recruiter which was fine. He seemed nice and excited about my background and the potential for getting me on the team. He said he wanted to move me along to the next part of the process which was another phone interview with the hiring manager. He failed to tell me when the interview was so I was blindly called and was left a voicemail stating I had missed the interview. I immediately called back and had a great conversation with the hiring manager and he also stated he wanted to move me along to the next step which was an in person interview. I was flown out to Globus Medical's headquarters in Pennsylvania in which I had to use my own PTO to attend. During my in person interview I was told I was meeting with four different people and I ended up being interviewed by several additional people which was fine. I had great conversations with everyone and was very excited about the potential to work for the company. I was told by the same recruiter I would hear back about the decision later that week (my interview was on a Monday.) I never heard anything so I followed up to which I still didn't hear anything. I followed up again and finally after two and a half weeks was told they wanted to offer me a position and I should expect to see an offer letter within the next couple of days. A week goes by and I still didn't have an offer letter, so I reached out again. Another week went by and I reached out again. After another two-three weeks I received a phone call from the same recruiter saying they were sorry for keeping me waiting and that the hold up was just in regards to the title they were offering me due to the pay range. I was 100% up front and honest in the pay range I was comfortable with yet this now seemed to be an issue. They said offering me a higher title then the people who would be training me might cause friction on the team - I understood this as I am a hiring manager myself. However, clearly the candidates you have aren't at a place where they are being promoted for the position I was interviewing for and everyone regardless of internal or external will need training. He said regardless he would go back to the hiring manager and ensure that I had an offer letter no later than the next day. I never received an offer letter and reached out to both the recruiter and the hiring manager and have yet to hear anything back. I understand if I'm not the best fit for the position but I don't understand not having compassion for someone's time. I used my own personal PTO to fly out and interview with the company - granted I wanted the job but like at least tell me I don't have it then rather than offering it to me and then ghosting me when I've put a lot of effort and time into this. I expected more from a company.

      Interview

Incredibly disjointed, with poor communication by hiring managers. Multiple interviews where the interviewers seemed to not know they were supposed to be interviewing me. After multiple rounds of interviews, the hiring manager just ghosted me and never replied to even tell me I was not going to be extended an offer
