I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Warsaw, Masovia) in May 2021
Interview
Interviewer on purpose wasted my time.
I was approached on LinkedIn by an interviewer from GS about job offer containing contradictory tech stack. I wrote very clearly that it sounds interesting, but I need clear communication regarding the salary range to decide if I want to invest my time into the recruitment process.
The interviewer stalled and wanted to have a call, I said ok, but because I expected usual non IT big corp HR bs I wrote clearly again that I expect clear range and that I do not play the ping pong game regarding the salary and if it is ok please feel free to contact me.
The interviewer didn't respond, called out of the blue day after the indicated free day, I asked to call at 3:30. The inteviewer agreed and sent confirmation. She called 3:52, from get go the interviewer dismissed the only condition I stated very clearly and went straight to standard interview procedure, when I reminded for the 3rd time that I need salary range before investing more time into the process the ping pong game started, I was done. Then I got message from anonymous account that I'm poor mannered and rude and I'm not fit for GS, at least the 2nd part is true, to me the interviewer was rude going with a scenario embeded in hers brain because she represents big company.
Advice: listen and be honest.
The process went fast without dragging.
It involves 4 rounds of interviews, which include:
2 rounds of coderpad related to DSA,
1 round SDLC,
and 1 round from the hiring manager.
A recruiter reached out to me. Technical screening was easy, then the super day loop included LC medium/hard questions. The last interview was my background check, project deep-dive, and theoretical conversation about applied solutions and their limitations/optimization.
