      Operations Analyst Interview

      Aug 2, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Salt Lake City, UT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Salt Lake City, UT) in May 2021

      Interview

I've done more than 5 interviews with Goldman Sachs. Back in June 2021, I've been contacted by the company and offered a position as an Operations Analyst, I've been informed about benefits and my salary. Later GS representative sent me more information over email(after I've followed up several times). As I've started signing different papers a couple of days later in the GS system, the GS representative, called me in the evening, informing me that it was a mistake, I did not get a job offer, but instead, I need to do another interview. I've done an interview the very next day and never heard back. I've followed up with the GS representative and there was no response. It is a very frustrating, highly unprofessional recruiting experience. I really liked the SLC branch and wished to work there; however, I am not sure whether interviews mean anything. I can be offered a position again and the next day informed that it was an accident.

      Interview

My Superday consisted of three back‑to‑back 20‑minute Zoom interviews. Each interviewer was warm, direct, and focused on understanding how I think, communicate, and approach operational problems. The process was well‑organized, with clear instructions and smooth transitions between meetings. Questions centered on teamwork, ownership, process improvement, and how my past experiences prepared me for Operations. Overall, it felt structured, conversational, and professionally run.
