I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jan 2009
Interview
Long & tedious interview with generic questions... sometimes questions that were odd & not very relevant to the position. Feedback & response times for further/follow up was HORRIBLE. Recruitment process is worst I've experienced & they were the ones that called me.... I was basically asked the same questions by four separate groups every interview (so same questions by 9 different sets of people) some other questions had nothing to do with the position or anything relevant at all. Also interviews were chaotic, moving to different rooms, people were late, video didn't function... not a good way to recruit or make people want to work for you.

To the point people, warm attitude yet quick to the Q&A. Share background, why ops, why location? Speak well and be confident. Be prepared for a random phone call, if you miss the call prepare a good voicemail for when you call back.

The process was well‑organized, with clear instructions and smooth transitions between meetings. Questions centered on teamwork, ownership, process improvement, and how my past experiences prepared me for Operations. Overall, it felt structured, conversational, and professionally run.
