I completed Google Summer of Code and immediately received an email providing a referral for an internship or a job at Google. I submit my resume and the next day I get to schedule two interviews a month later.
I prepared mainly using Cormen's Introduction to Algorithms and Cracking the Coding Interview.
They've done me really good. I could answer most questions thrown at me. However I did struggle a bunch of times.

A problem that was to be solved using the min max algorithm. I knew the topic but I wasn't prepared. I expected easier questions.
I assume only ACM *CPC veterans would be able to ace this.
Got a 15 min screening interview round through Google Big Code. There were supposed to be 2 more rounds both Data Structures and Algorithm based. Some People who could not get to R2 got these interview calls.

was a smooth but technical process, a lot of emphasis on soft skills and creative thinking, assuming this was to observe how we fit in with the company with regards to our ability to connect dots
Multiple interview rounds initial rounds dont ask for anything besdies leetcode and are extremely scrutinized no room to be humble ruins chances ideally 300+ leetcode solved the interview questions themselves are easy enough
