I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Columbus, OH) in Nov 2023
Interview
The interview was done in multiple parts. First was an over the phone screening to make sure you know a decent amount about hardware, networking, Linux, etc. the second step is 3 interviews regarding those subjects mentioned as well as soft skills. If you pass that point, you will interview with a site manager at the location you are applying for, or potentially someone at another data center.

Question 1
Was not allowed to share questions from interviews outside the interview
Fairly straightforward interview with basic work related questions. Passed all interviews and ghosted by recruiter. Google uses Randstad recruitment to fulfil open roles and I think this is the main issue
Did my initial interview. Got asked some multiple choice questions about linux and troubleshooting. I got moved on to the next round of interviews. My interviw was supposed to be via video but my interviewer didn't show up. I ended up doing it over the phone.
I applied online. I interviewed at Google (Lincoln, NE) in Mar 2026
Interview
I had a brief screening interview over Google meet. Initial invitation was sent to wrong recruiter, rescheduled to meet with correct recruiter later in the week. They had me fill out a pre-screening form that they then used as a template for much of the interview. The recruiter was new so 3 people sat in with her, they had all of us turn our cameras off which was a little odd. Pretty average interview questions, but I was surprised about how disorganized and unprepared the Google team was. I was told I would receive a response that week either way about next steps, and I haven't heard anything after a month. I received another offer so I did not feel a need to follow up, as they were also disorganized and unprepared.
