Had a call with the hiring manager then the department head. Questions were structured and scenario based. You are to work the interviewer through your thought process. It was an overall good experience.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Jan 2018
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me (passive recruiting) for a role on the People Team. I interviewed at Google in January 2018. While the recruiter and the process with her was great - the team was questionable. On the day of the interview, 2 out of 4 people to meet were different than what was sent. Additionally, one of the interviewers made me feel very uncomfortable by saying, "but what more?" - I had provided my answer, expanded the answer and she continued to make me feel incompetent. I knew from that point that likely I would not be receiving an offer. Google is a great place to work however one of the interviewers also stated "Googlers feel entitled" which I didn't find a great selling point as humanizing in recruiting is so key.
The experience with the recruiter was great as she provided a prep call and also called to decline - the interview team was good with the exception of 1 individual and of course the change in schedule which was not delivered to me.
