      Copywriter Interview

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Great Minds in Apr 2024

      Interview

I applied in the middle of February and heard nothing until April. This should have been a red flag, but I continued with the process. The next step was a call with the recruiter, who was clearly doing other tasks during the interview. She sent me a “vetting assignment” and made it sound like I needed to complete it ASAP. I finished it in a couple hours following the interview, and sent it over. Crickets. I had to follow up three times over the course of almost a month. By the final check in, I could tell she was annoyed, and a few days later informed me I did not get the role. Which didn’t matter to me at that point because I had already accepted another role with another org. But, it was the point in that it was just so incredibly rude and inconsiderate, and they turned it around on me saying a three month recruitment process was standard … which it’s not. As was clearly forgotten during the Great Minds recruitment process, candidates are people. Humans. We deserve to be updated (whether there is an update or not). We deserve empathy and compassion. To drag out an application for THREE months shows that your company is lacking processes and organization, and I wouldn’t have accepted the position if it would have been offered because - honestly - if you treat potential talent like this, than I’m not sure I want to find out how you treat actual employees.
