30 minute screening interview with a recruiter after applying online. Standard questions about my qualifications until I was asked for a detailed explanation as to why I left EACH of my last employers over the past 15+ years. My average tenure at a company was 3-7 years so it wasn't like they were trying to determine flight risk, but as a female POC it was traumatic. I exited companies when I received documented confirmation that I was being paid below band despite excellent reviews, but how many times can you come up with more detail after saying "I left to expand my skill set." When I commented on the probing, the recruiter responded "I have to ask these questions." After that conversation, I was surprised an interview with the hiring manager was scheduled. It was a more typical interview, but I could not muster as much enthusiasm.
