Submitted app online. Contacted about a week later on a Wednesday. They scheduled a video interview for Monday with a panel of Admins. This company has an admin team that gets involved when hiring for an admin role. They told me about the two different admin positions I had applied to. Discussed the differences in the teams and duties. Then had me pick which I was more interested in and let me ask questions. I don't know if anyone else was interviewed for the job I chose. Tuesday, I heard back with an invitation for an in-person interview to be conducted on Wednesday. Met with the heads of the two departments the position would be supporting. One was a Director dialed in on video from another state's office. The other, a Market VP, was there in person and would be the direct supervisor. They spent most of the interview explaining what their departments do and discussing how the admin fits into that. Both were super friendly. It felt much more conversational than a formal interview. At the end, they introduced me to another admin to take a tour of the office. The interview lasted an hour and the tour nearly 45 minutes because I was introduced to so many people as we walked around all three floors of the headquarters. The next day (Thursday) I got a call asking me if I could possibly squeeze in a video call with the Director's AD that week. I was on the line with him about 2 hours later. Again, it was more chatting about what the department does and how the admin fits in than a traditional interview. Didn't hear back Friday (there simply wasn't time to process everything in time), but I did get a call first thing on Monday with the offer. I made a slight counter (because all the online advice had convinced me I absolutely HAD to at least try) and found there wasn't really anything to negotiate on as they already bumped me up to the Sr Admin Asst level based on my years of experience and they always offer above average rates/benefits across the board and make a point to standardize pay levels for fairness. HR has a pay equity team who performs a salary study across the organization for every new hire.
