Gretchen Scott Designs Designer interview questions

The position I came to interview for was not what the company was actually looking for - someone posted the wrong information in the ad. The interview was like a loopy ride on a malfunctioning rollercoaster. I met with the designer/owner, who had no interest in my portfolio and never looked at it. She instead gave me a very informative top-to-bottom tour of the facility, which I though was very interesting and inspiring from a small business perspective. Yes, there was a happy looking dog roaming around (wet from rain, knocking things over with its wagging tail). Following a lengthy conversation with topics ranging from travel to Alan Cummings, I also had the opportunity to see how the design team works together and their interactions with the designer. This part was extremely awkward and uncomfortable, to the point that I very nearly walked out. One of the graphic artists was obviously disliked by the designer and was (silently) on the receiving end of a barrage of personal insults throughout my time there. I can only assume that what I saw was kinder than what happens away from the eyes of strangers, and if nothing else had been wrong with the interview process, this was the reason I would never work this company.
