I applied online. I interviewed at Guidewire (San Mateo, CA) in Aug 2025
Interview
AI interview with a platform called AIR by Braintrust.
This was not a conversation, but more of an interrogation. Questions are AI-generated based on the job description, and the bot asks follow-up questions based on the candidate’s responses. Once the bot has finished asking its questions, the interview ends. There is no opportunity for the candidate to ask questions that might clarify items from the job description or give insight into team structure, tools being used, current state of operations or the role, or any other information one might want to gather to determine if one would really like to pursue the role or work for Guidewire.
Braintrust claims that AIR will provide the candidate feedback on their interview to improve upon skills; however, this did not occur. Instead I received a request to provide feedback on the interview via SurveyMonkey.
In the end, it’s an experience that leads one to believe the company does not value people.
