I invested a lot of time interviewing with Gusto on 2 separate occasions, reaching all the way to final rounds. Unfortunately, the end of the process left me baffled. After multiple in-depth conversations and what I felt were positive exchanges, I got an automated rejection. To add to the confusion, they ultimately hired someone who didn't have direct experience in contingent workforce management, but rather in a related MSP program management role.
Overall, it wasn’t a great experience from a candidate perspective, especially given the hours I put into the process. It just felt like a mismatch in expectations and communication in the end.
