I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gusto (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2015
Interview
Applied online, heard back from recruiter the next day about doing the one-way video interview via SparkHire. This was the first for me and hopefully the last.
I am a people person. I do well with another human being on the other side. I am not an actress for a reason, I do not do well with cameras.
One-way video interview must have a purpose since they use it. Frankly, I think it costs them qualified candidates who would be excellent at their job that does not involve being on camera. I guess, they are looking for a certain type of person (age? color? gender?) and this technology really helps them in that regard.
