I applied online. I interviewed at H&M (Cheltenham, England) in Aug 2017
Interview
The group assessment was held in the store I was applying for. There were two managers present and conducting the interview.
We started off with ice breakers - we were given a piece of paper with a question on it and we had to answer it. For example 'if there was a movie written about your life, what would it be about and who would be the actor/actress that played you?' We were then split in to small groups and we had to write down 5 things that we thought were key to being a H&M sales associate. We had to present it to the rest of the group.
In the same groups, we were then given different examples of customers coming in to the store for fashion advice and had to cut out appropriate clothes, accessories and jewellery and anything else we thought was relevant from magazines and stick them on paper, which we also had to present to the rest of the group.
After that, we were given different scenarios that we had to discuss as an entire group and come up with a conclusion to present to the managers interviewing us. For example 'if a colleague called in sick and you saw them out shopping in town, what would you do?'
It finished with the manager saying they would call us with a decision as to whether we were successful or not.
I had my group interview on a Tuesday and I had a call on the Friday of the same week to say I had been successful! I accepted the job!
Short and snappy. Very easy process and straightforward and very friendly. Phone call and in person interview with hiring manager. decided to decline because I had another offer at a different company.
The interview process was straightforward. I first completed a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview. The questions focused on my work experience, personal style, and how I would fit the role overall.

Interview
In the group interview, the people seemed very nervous and anxious throughout. We did some tasks, including answering questions that required presentation and picking clothes from the menswear for different vague scenarios.
