I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HCLTech (Bengaluru) in Jun 2023
Interview
this was through a recruiter. the interview process was meaningless. there was 1 team lead, 1 data scientist from hcl for the interview. overall waste of time and effort. they are looking for skills very specific to project and have little idea about data science or ml. asked about projects i did, publications, dataset size handled.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
asked about projects i did. the team lead asked most of the questions like how large datset i handled, what libraries i used, what algorithms i used. when told about deep learning i used for research, they straightaway told they are using machine learning techniques, not involving deep learning and hence disconnected the call. no question on machine learning or deep learning or statistics. waste of time and effort.
