I applied for the Front desk Receptionist position on indeed and got a message within the hour asking about my availability to come in for an interview. I got an interview for the next day, and I left early to make it. Right before I got there, traffic suddenly slowed down and I didn’t know why people weren’t moving. As soon as I got closer the road was blocked by police and I called the front desk letting him know there was an accident of some kind and I might be a couple minutes late. The man sounded sincere over the phone, and I ended up making it there only one minute late. When I got to the desk, the man who had answered the phone started grilling me asking where the accident was like he didn’t believe there was one. My interview was scheduled from 1-1:30, yet they had me fill out a paper application even though I already applied online and they had my resume. I finished the application around 1:27, the interviewer made me wait another 10 minutes before he came out and got me for the interview. There wasn’t anyone back there, he was just twiddling his thumbs I guess. The actual interview was very quick, literally lasted only 5 minutes. I spent more time waiting than the interview itself. It was him telling me what my duties would be and asking what shifts I’d be available for. He then said I’d have to do a second interview with someone not in the building, I said ok. When they did schedule the 2nd interview, I came in and the same guy on the phone smirked at me and said “wow you got a second interview huh?”. Then I had to wait another 30 minutes for the 2nd interviewer to finish with another applicant. The interview was quick once again, a lot quicker than the previous applicants but they still convinced me I was “in the running”. It was more basic questions about my resume and telling me what perks I’d have if I did get the job. At the end of the interview I asked when I’d know if I got the job and he said he’d call no later than Thursday. On Thursday, I got a message on indeed telling me they were “extending the hiring process” and told me if I didn’t get a rejection message that I was still being considered and they’d message next week. I responded to that message thanking them for the update and letting them know feel free to ask me further questions. Well, it’s been a week later and now I’ve come to the conclusion I’ve been ghosted. I’m pretty sure they knew they didn’t want to choose me for the job, but for some reason led me on anyway having me think I had a chance which is highly unprofessional. The time I wasted waiting and going to a second interview could’ve been focused on finding a better fit for me, but they wanted to keep me in the wings in case something fell through. My experience was not good and I thank them for ghosting me because it lets me know it wasn’t a job worth working for anyway. Also, $15 an hour in 2025? Who can live off of that? I hope their team learns respect and actual communication and does better. Disgusted with this place playing with peoples livelihoods in this economy.

the person who interviewd me was extrely condescending and rude. was late and didnt seem like they wanted to be there. as soon as i said i was in college he sneered at me and gave annoyed looks at me
