A recruiter reached out and LinkedIn and advised I should apply as my background was a good fit. I applied and was setup with an interview. First interview went as expected, couldn’t get a read with hiring manager, very frank and neutral personality. I was then advanced to a panel interview with three folks, each got 30 minutes for a total of 1.5 hours. The first did not show. The recruiter apologized and said there was a last minute cancelation on their part, but that was 30 minutes of my time gone. Second was 20 minutes late. Again, recruiter apologized, but at this point my time was wasted and I felt greatly disrespected. The interview went well with the VP, although he was very frank that while the company could be exciting, it was also very overwhelming and he seemed to be somewhat suffering mental health wise from the strains of his position. He was very nice however and advised he would give me a positive review. This interview went on for a full 30 minutes. Now I had ten minutes left for the original slotted time so instead of being mindful of how much of my time they wasted, I immediately went into the second interview with an individual who seemingly was completely unaware that once we got to the point where I had to go, he kept the interview going which lasted 40 minutes total and made me 30 minutes late to an appointment. He was very square and hard to read as well. The original interview was then rescheduled to that afternoon taking further time from my day. She was very nice and very pleasant to talk to. All in all, what was supposed to be a 1.5 hour panel turned into a 2.5 hour combination of waiting on teams for no shows and having to provide more of my time which cost me personally, especially as it caused me to be late to an appointment. Then I was told the decision would be made by the end of the week or early next week. Weeks past and I kept asking for an update and was told soon basically… then received some generic email advising I had not been selected. No call, no personal note from the recruiter, nothing.
