I applied online. I interviewed at Hawaiian Airlines (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2017
Interview
I applied online on the website of Hawaiian Airlines on June 11th. When HA contacted me, it was on July 22 via email.
Since they were doing an interview in Los Angeles, I went there to do the interview. It was a hotel near LAX. I believe there were about 5 or 6 time slots of the interview time. But at my time slot, there were about 30 people. Since this interview was for a language qualified, we then got into groups within the same language qualified. Everyone that came on their own had to pay $4 for the parking.
The tone of the interview was definitely professional. It was also friendly but professional is more of the tone.
First they have you do a reach test whether you can reach above the tape. Then when you go inside the room, they first asked 2 customer service related questions. First customer service question was the same to all applicants and then 2nd question was all different. Then they have you pick a paper and read each of the different scenarios and then ask you what would you do in that situation. First you answer in English and then answer in the language you're qualified. Last, they have you read an inflight announcement. Its all different.
At the last part of the interview, they have you read an announcement in the language you're qualified for.
It was very professional and nice. You do a one on one then group then another one on one. For the group, you get and individual scenario then a group scenario where you work together.

I applied online. I interviewed at Hawaiian Airlines
Interview
the whole process was a 3-step process. The first was a group Zoom interview, with a few questions and timed answer (now with Alaska Air merge, it is a recorded process). Next was an in-person group interview, you measure height and reach, break off in groups, and speak in front of a panel. Finally, individual interview, but I did not get that far.
Korean language qualify position has test through lap top computer. It was quite tough and wasn’t easy to pass. They ask everything such as politics, economics, religion and events. It took more than 30-40 minutes and weren’t able to mix any English vocabularies.
