I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Headway (NY) (New York, NY) in Jan 2023
Interview
Don't waste your time with this company. Recruiter reached out to me and sold me on the role and the company's mission, which is really strong. Went through 3 interviews along with 2 screening calls and a take home assignment. Got glowing reviews every step of the way, to the point that a sales manager told me I had the job pending a reference check. An HR guy reached out to towards the end of the process and even offered a sign on bonus if I would commit to starting in a week. I still had one interview and reference check to go, so ultimately told him I'd wait on that and join the next training class, which he said was fine. Few days later, done with process, get the standard rejection email which hilariously stated all feedback was confidential. Headway didn't even call my references-they made appointments with them for calls, and then left them hanging. The most feedback I got was that I was overqualified for the role-which they could have figured out before wasting 3 weeks of my time. Overall, really disappointing experience with this company. The process started out great, ended laughably bad on their part. Super unprofessional way to conduct an interview process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you stay organized in the face of many priorities? Are you comfortable wearing many hats? How do you stay motivated in a sales role?
I was initially very excited about this opportunity. The compensation was below industry standard, but given the mission, I was willing to be flexible.
The final interview started off well, with one interviewer who was warm and easy to talk to. However, a second interviewer sitting in was noticeably rude and dismissive for much of the conversation. Toward the end, when I tried to get clarity on a few points, the tone became sarcastic and dismissive rather than collaborative. It felt less like a conversation and more like being tested or caught out, which was enough that I withdrew from the process shortly after.
It also seems like this company overextends its employees, expecting people to take on far more than is reasonable, especially given the below market pay.
The unfortunate truth is that candidates are evaluating a company just as much as the company is evaluating them. This experience made clear that isn’t fully understood internally, and how someone is treated in an interview says a lot about how they’d be treated as an employee.

I was honestly so impressed by this process! Everyone was detail oriented and kind. I also felt like the recruiting team prepared me well. I joined Headway a month ago and it's been such a breath of fresh air so far. I'd recommend!
