Applied online, received an email from a recruiter a few days later asking to set up an interview. Then at the time of the scheduled interview, recruiter didn't call - instead I got an email asking to reschedule. I confirmed the new day with no reply from him. Again, on the day, no call. I emailed again and then again and was finally rescheduled. When we spoke at last, it was a great conversation, probably the most pleasant phone interview I've had. Basic questions about my experiences to make sure I'm a fit for the position. At the end, the recruiter said he'd pass on his suggestion to bring me in for an in-person interview (it's not actually up to the recruiter who gets invited in) and to expect to hear back the next day. This was a couple of weeks ago and I still haven't heard anything either way. I've already accepted a different job at another company so I've no need to follow up now, but the whole process seemed disorganized and made me feel like I wasn't a priority. How do you expect to recruit talented employees if you keep messing them around and don't get back to them? I get the process of phone screening, but it seems the recruiter has no effect on the decision to interview in person, so what's the point?
