You can tell there's a need compliance wise for HR as the interview questions asked could definitely present a liability for the company.
Ryan, the president, contradicted himself a few times and he talked over my responses which created a poor candidate experience. For example, he mentioned his concern for me working globally and starting my own business (which I mentioned I want to walk away from and focus primarily on HR). He then said he doesn't want his employees to view this as a place where they retire rather a stepping stone for their next job. So why was he so concerned about me starting my own business and wanting to walk away from it then?
He asked for my "input" on how to handle a situation currently happening within the company which is unethical to try to gain free work out of candidates. He then mentioned that team members would probably be let go. Another thing a candidate shouldn't hear. I knew due to his tone and how he interviewed I didn't want the position so I made sure to not answer this question to its entirety. I suggest others beware of this as well.
It's obvious he would be a micromanager as he mentioned how he wants things done his way but then contradicted himself and said he wants things off of his plate. Which is it?
He also was unsure if responsibilities fell on HRs lap or would remain his responsibility which is a bit concerning to me as well
