Interview
I received a phone call to set up an interview just one day after I applied online. The interview process went well. The questions were read directly off a sheet which I believe is probably just a corporate policy, but it felt a little impersonal. I brought a portfolio with me that had letters of recommendation, copies of my resume, proof of volunteer work, etc. The only document they asked me for was a list of references, but at least I appeared prepared! I was asked a lot of "have you ever experienced a time when... and what did you do?" questions (you noticed another nurse was impaired, you made a mistake, you had a difficult and needy patient, etc). A recruiter called me the next day to offer me the position! I am very pleased with how quickly the process occurred.

Question 1
The very first question was, "Name three reasons why you chose to apply for a job at this hospital". Maybe it was because it was the first question, but it threw me off to try to genuinely answer that question without sounding insincere or tacky.
Quick to get back and straight to the point! The Manager of the unit was very personable and made me feel super comfortable while also staying professional throughout the interview process.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Henry Ford Health (Detroit, MI) in Nov 2025
Interview
Easy, straight forward. Was very easy going, more like a conversation as opposed to an ask and answer. Asked questions about my experience and how it would translate to this job. Was offered the job at the end of the interview

Question 1
Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a patient or your team.
Why do you think you would be a good candidate for this unit.
Will wait a month after the initial interview to know if you are considered for employment, and then will get upset/annoyed if you already have other opportunities presented. They feel like you should be waiting for them, even though it’s a month.
