The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hobby Lobby
Interview
Phone interview, then online assessment that consisted of self ratings, logical thinking, problem solving, etc.
If you pass that, then next
step are references via a 3rd party site.
Next step is then a 1 on 1 in person interview with recruiter.
Next step is meeting and walk with a store mgr. Evaluation forms to be submitted and then a job offer can happen.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Know your greatest accomplishments in all areas of work history. Be prepared to dissect these and explain who, what, when, where, why, etc. Including what could have been better, obstacles, feedback, what you learned, etc.
Relocation is a demand. Don't waste your time or theirs if you won't relocate going into as co-mgr. The job posting location doesn't mean that's where you will work.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Hobby Lobby (Fort Worth, TX) in May 2026
Interview
Phone interview with recruiter. First step. Explains in detail the description of job and requirements as well as next steps and 10 questions. After you are asked for 6 references including 4 direct reports. This can be a bit hard if you are currently employed but dont want to involve your place of work just yet..so be prepared for this.

Question 1
If ever been let go or terminated from a job.
What is your strongest attribute..
Horrible. Very quick interview scheduled and professional interview but it’s unrealistic to expect 7-10 references that are professional only. Most companies don’t even allow employees to give references so to make that a minimum to move in in today’s world is ridiculous.
The recuiter met me at the door and showed me around the store explaining expectations right off th bat. He then took me to the office and asked me standard interview questions for a leadership position.
