I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Hobby Lobby (Madison, WI) in Feb 2013
Interview
7 day process...intense one on one interview with hr. Background check and drug test. A very intense one on one interview with HR. The interview lasted more that 3.5 hours! You might not get the place you want to go. They are looking for you to relocate when you get promoted. I guess that is good but do not sign any lease longer than 6 months!!

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Hobby Lobby (Fort Worth, TX) in May 2026
Interview
Phone interview with recruiter. First step. Explains in detail the description of job and requirements as well as next steps and 10 questions. After you are asked for 6 references including 4 direct reports. This can be a bit hard if you are currently employed but dont want to involve your place of work just yet..so be prepared for this.

Question 1
If ever been let go or terminated from a job.
What is your strongest attribute..
Horrible. Very quick interview scheduled and professional interview but it’s unrealistic to expect 7-10 references that are professional only. Most companies don’t even allow employees to give references so to make that a minimum to move in in today’s world is ridiculous.
The recuiter met me at the door and showed me around the store explaining expectations right off th bat. He then took me to the office and asked me standard interview questions for a leadership position.
