      Applied AI Scientist Interview

      Nov 19, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Homebase (Toronto, ON) in Oct 2025

      Interview

They had few steps, recruiter calls, weirdly start asking basic ML questions and write down your answers, then technical chat mostly on background, and then a panel kinda thing interview. Generally I really felt the interviewers didn’t have the knowledge to interview people, they were having obvious mistakes, and keep building on that idea, like thinking that attention maps are vectors!! Or mixing cross entropy with cross validation!! You feel that you just being recorded, they won’t listen and it doesn’t feel like a conversation.
