Dear people, had a new experience today, A process of hiring through hackathon tech event . Sounds interesting and it is a great platform for evaluating the in depth knowledge.
Here is the experience. An interview day in honeywell Bangalore. Role was Mean stack developer and process was hackathon.
To begin with, its like a waste of day. 2 genius mind working in honeywell will evaluate N teams.Any team can can have N number of people. It can be Java or .Net or Any language that you heard of. 2 Genius from Honeywell knows in and out of every language.
Evaluation process is far more interesting. Person who present the solution from team irrespective of lacking knowledge is selected if you're good in communication skills. Elimination round was simple, Good PPT will give pass for next round.
In the process of doing new, far away from the real requirements "hiring candidate who can add value with specific technical expertise".
Good luck getting good candidate. Real candidates stay away. Better have a nice weekend :)
