I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Houston's (Boca Raton, FL) in Mar 2019

      Interview

A three-part interview: 1. First is a sit-down with a manager (If it's the GM first, the hard part is over) 2. If they like you, you'll be given two tests. The first is a personality aptitude and after you score high enough, they give you a timed IQ test (which is impossible to finish-- I scored well without answering all). It's a brief measurement of how you may respond under pressure. 3. A final Skype interview with HR in New York- you may get the option to do it at home if time is running longer. If you've made it this far, congratulations! Proceed to onboarding.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They all ask very generic open-ended questions!! I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH- THEY WILL NOT ASK YOU ANYTHING TOO DIFFICULT, THEY ONLY WANT TO SEE YOU SMILE. Smile the entire way through the interview. If you can manage to come across as humbled and joyful, thats what this company looks for. The more you come across as a person looking forward to be trained their way and not flamboyantly experienced. Just....smile. I promise. When you're listening to them and when you're responding. I have seen several interviewees get turned down simply because they looked too stern.

      I interviewed at Houston's

      Interview

Went to the in-person interview at Boca Raton location, arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled interview time, thought it’s going to be quick and done but no, I was waiting for around 50 minutes to be called for interview. If restaurant was just busy I would understand but the thing is I was waiting for so long because they were interviewing around 5 people before me, including 4 people which arrived AFTER me. I arrived 5 minutes early because I know time is a currency, and I didn’t want to waste interviewees time, sadly they didn’t think that my time is worthy, instead they called everyone who doesn’t respect their time (were late to their scheduled interview time). Overall I just hated it, it felt miserable. The interview itself was easy and super quick, no hard questions. They asked about my experience and what is the main part of being a server, that’s pretty much it

Face to Face at a table, easy conversation, management was accommodating and the interview was very short and to the point. You will pick from times after their lunch rush in Calendly. He will ask a few questions and allow you to ask any if you like.
