I applied to Houzz not once but twice. The first time around I made it all the way through and not only did I not receive an offer, I didn't even receive an explanation. A year later, I applied again (this time for a slightly different position and more experience). I know a lot of people who work at Houzz and they agreed to let me come back for another round of interviews. This time around I did much more research, was much more prepared and had nothing but great conversations and interactions with all the people I interviewed with. They even asked me at the end when I could start, if I had any upcoming vacations, so on and so forth. I remember saying to myself "Well. they definitely wouldn't make me go through this entire process again if they weren't really interested in me..." I was grateful. I walked out of there thinking I had it in the bag. To my surprise, I received the SAME GENERIC email that I had received a year ago. Again, with no explanation. I even asked if I could speak with someone and receive some sort of professional or personal feedback. After that... silence. Just a heads up, Houzz, I understand you cannot personally speak to everyone you reject, however, when you have a candidate go through the entire process twice and you think it's okay to send them an identical generic email again. That might as well be a slap in the face. I've gone through many interviews and never have I encountered a company with absolutely no common courtesy.
