      Account Manager Interview

      Aug 25, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Houzz

      Interview

I was told early on that this would be an Account Management type of position dealing with mainly warm accounts but the deeper I got into interviewing it became more clear that this would be a call-center type of a role which was disappointing. The recruiters were AMAZING! They were so helpful and had such a positive energy to them which got me excited about the opportunity in the first place. The hiring managers I interviewed with did not have the same positive energy about them and almost made me feel like they were judging me the whole time and only asked negative questions which left me feeling uncomfortable about making a move to Houzz from my current position. When the offer was made they did not make me feel like it was a good thing - rather, there was a negative undertone that felt like I was being tested and that is no way to feel during a call that should be exciting and positive. I ended up declining the job offer because of the daily job duties and how uncomfortable direct management made me feel with how they handled the interview and the offer.

      Interview

Met with recruiter then hiring manager and team lead manager I would be working with. Pretty fast overall process once they have reached out to you. Several quick questions about experience and then metrics into their company and what the role entails.

      Customer Service Representative (CSR) Interview

      Jan 5, 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Phoenix, AZ
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Houzz (Phoenix, AZ)

      Interview

It was an efficient process. One phone interview with their recruiter and then an in person interview with a manager. Role playing was part of the interview process (the manager gave me a specific complaint and I had to resolve the customer’s problem).

Thorough but comfortable! I had multiple interviews, but everyone was very personable. They requested an at home typing speed test (to be completed after the first interview) and asked me to email the results to the recruiter.
