      Customer Service Representative Interview

      Dec 16, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Nashville, TN
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Houzz (Nashville, TN) in Dec 2016

      Interview

Recruited on LinkedIn, had an initial phone call which was basically just them telling me how great Houzz was, didn't hear back for a week until I followed up and the recruiter apologized for not getting back to me because she was busy but invited me to a open house interview. This was very awkward, sat in a room with 15 other people waiting for a presentation to start. The presentation was 40 minutes of basically them selling Houzz to us, not going into detail about the actual position. After the presentation they called us in one by one and it was literally a 2 minute speed date. The manager asked what I do for my company and as soon as I was done answering they rushed me out to bring someone else in. The following week I got a call back for a skype interview with a hiring manager in California. This was terrible, they couldn't find my skype username for the first 20 minutes and when the technical difficulties were resolved it was extremely awkward. They are very focused on what I did in highschool and college, even though I have a long history of relevant work history. I feel like this company just wants to hire a clan of sorority girl clones. I got the vibe that everyone was very unorganized and awkward and like they are rushing to fill this office and the candidates can definitely see that.

      Interview

Met with recruiter then hiring manager and team lead manager I would be working with. Pretty fast overall process once they have reached out to you. Several quick questions about experience and then metrics into their company and what the role entails.

      Application

I interviewed at Houzz (Phoenix, AZ)

      Interview

It was an efficient process. One phone interview with their recruiter and then an in person interview with a manager. Role playing was part of the interview process (the manager gave me a specific complaint and I had to resolve the customer’s problem).

      Interview

Thorough but comfortable! I had multiple interviews, but everyone was very personable. They requested an at home typing speed test (to be completed after the first interview) and asked me to email the results to the recruiter.
